DIY* (Do-It-Yourself) installation is possible as our install manuals are very detailed and easy to understand. However, we would always advise professional installation to retain the 2-year warranty(1-year warranty for dashcam). All DIY installs come with a 1-year warranty;
*Many people choose do-it-yourself installation; however, installing mobile electronic devices without professional help can lead to costly repairs and, in some cases, personal injury. Unavi is not responsible for unit damage, vehicle damage, or injury should you decide to install without professional help.
You will receive a 2-year warranty(1-year in case of dashcam) if our system is professionally installed. DIY (Do-It-Yourself) installs receive one year warranty on parts only.
Unavi system will NOT void your vehicle’s factory warranty. Accessories added to your car cannot void the warranty (refer to the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act). However, if the install causes a malfunction in that circuit, then they can force you to cover the cost of repair. We always advise our customers to contact us regarding any issues prior to taking the vehicle back to the dealership to determine what is at fault in the case of a malfunction.

Our system adds BOTH Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. If you connect an Android phone, Android Auto will appear on the screen. If you connect an Apple phone, Apple CarPlay will appear on the screen.
Our UNAVI Android Auto / Apple CarPlay systems are aftermarket add-on systems that work with the factory hardware and software in your car. To put it simply, you will be able to toggle back and forth between your current infotainment system and our system. When you connect your phone, Android Auto or Apple CarPlay will launch, depending on your phone type. You will have Android Auto / Apple CarPlay and you can still switch back to the original infotainment system to access your climate controls, radio, settings, etc. You will be able to use apps on your screen such as Google Maps, Waze, Spotify, etc. (any apps compatible with Android Auto / Apple CarPlay).
To see our Android Auto / Apple CarPlay system in action, you can also visit our How-To CarPlay page to see how CarPlay is used in compatible vehicles.
There are two ways of accessing Android Auto / Apple CarPlay. When you connect your phone via the USB cable or wirelessly, Android Auto / Apple CarPlay will automatically launch. You can also press and hold a designated button on your steering wheel or dash to switch between Android Auto / Apple CarPlay and your original infotainment system.
Yes, you can continue to use the steering wheel controls to adjust the volume and change tracks. You can also answer calls via the answer button on the steering wheel.
If your car has a factory touchscreen, in most cases, you can continue to use the factory touchscreen to control Android Auto / Apple CarPlay. If your screen is non-touch, then you can use the factory controller knob/joystick/touchpad to control Android Auto / Apple CarPlay.

You won’t lose any factory features after our system is installed. You can revert back to stock at any time if needed. This means that your factory radio and screen will not be altered/modified by the installation of our system and your factory warranty will not be voided. Our product still needs to connect to an audio source from your radio (such as AUX or iPod mode), so our product may need to connect to one of the audio ports available in your car. If your vehicle is equipped with it, the back-up cameras and the 360-camera function is also retained and will continue to operate after installation.
Our Android Auto / Apple CarPlay system does not replace your factory radio (except Nissan Leaf). The radio functions and sound will remain the same after the installation of our system. Our system taps into the AUX or iPod sources to play audio to your car speakers.
Our Android Auto / Apple CarPlay system works on your current screen. These systems do not replace the screen in order to retain factory features. You can switch back and forth between your current infotainment features (radio, climate controls, settings, etc.) and our Android Auto / Apple CarPlay system. The dash appearance will remain the same after our system is installed.
OEM features and functions are built-in from the factory. This means that adding any features and functions afterwards will never truly be OEM. We have designed our systems to be as close to OEM as possible without affecting any of the factory hardware and software. Android Auto / Apple CarPlay will operate the same as any car that has it from the factory. Only difference is how our system will work with your car that was not designed to have this feature when it was manufactured. The differences lie in the way you can toggle back and forth between our system and the original infotainment system, access to play audio to your speakers, and use of the factory Bluetooth function for phone calls for best call quality. Our systems are designed this way to avoid affecting the factory warranty.
You can find pricing on our website by visiting the product page for each system. Shipping and taxes will be calculated at checkout.
Installation prices may vary. Visit our installer locator to find the closest installers near your area. You can even purchase the installation service with one of our Pro Shops before you checkout. Many of our customers have installed our products by themselves. If you are comfortable taking apart your dash, then we can help with the rest of the process.
