Works as adverstised. You just need to be careful dring the installation if you plan to do it your self. Be patient. Take your time to protect the leather trim of your car so you dont damage it. If you are planning to purchase the i-knob, be very careful with the by-pass connection so you dont push it against the unit since you can damage a ribbon cable in the carplay unit. This was my mistake. Thanksfully UNAVI tech support help me and sent a replacement unit. They have a excellent costumer support. I'm very happy with the unit. I feel like if I purchased the QX50 2021 model
Had Navtool CarPlay. Occasionally drained my battery so I would have to jumpstart, screen flickered sometimes, sound was distorted sometimes, factory nav was usually off calibration, and then it died after almost 2 years. None of these issues so far. My only gripe is the dashboard camera button doesn’t work unless you switch off CarPlay first with Navtool and Unavi.
Install was straight forward. I did a self install. Very happy with the product. Note: When in CarPlay mode only the touch screen works. Audio plays through AUX setting only. Example if you are listening to FM or XM radio you wouldn’t be able to hear directions from Waze when in CarPlay mode. However, you can listen to music via apps such as Amazon Music or Spotify in CarPlay, mode and you would be able to hear directions from Waze or other map / guidance systems as long as you are in the Aux mode for audio. Overall very happy.
They have fantastic customer support to walk you through the process. I've recommended this to my local a/v shop to become a certified installer and told them this would bring mad business. 10/10 would recommend
